J. Prentice Loftin, Music Director, is holding auditions for the 2007-2008 Season of The El Paso Choral Society, a 100 voice choir that performs the great choral / orchestral works. There are openings in all voice categories. This season, the Chorale will perform the Mozart Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Carmina Burana. This September, members from the Chorale will be the opera chorus in El Paso Opera’s fall production of Aida. For information or to set up an audition, please call 833-0263. The El Paso Choral Society Youth and Children Choirs, under the direction of Yvonne Marmolejo, Music Director/Conductor and Nancy Bickley & Joe Estala, Conductors, are holding auditions for singers ages 7 – 18. In addition to its regular concert series, singers from the Youth and Children’s Choirs will be performing in the El Paso Opera production of Aida in September, and a pre-concert performance for the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. One of the young singers will be selected to sing a solo in the El Paso Opera 2008 production of Il Trittico. Next season, the EPCS Girls Choir has been invited to perform with the Tucson Boy’s Choir in Arizona. For information or to set up an audition, please call 833-0263. KIDS-N-CO. will be taking applications for summer camp apprentices and interns at a workshop on Monday, May 14 at 7 p.m. Apprentices must be available to work from 9:15 to 4:45 weekdays and will be paid $150 per week. Interns work from 12:15 to 4:45 and will receive an honorarium at the conclusion of camp. Camps run from June 4 - July 1 and July 9 - August 5. Applicants must be at least 15 years old.
